SNEAKEROLOGY 101

Sneakerology 101 at Carnegie Mellon University is a StuCo (student led course) and the first accredited college course on sneakers. The curriculum focuses on the history, design, development, technology, trends, culture, and current events of sneakers. It’s the first course of its kind and has paved the way for other sneaker related courses in academia.

Glenn Kugelman kicked off his involvement as a student of the course and grew to be the Instructor of the course, as well as, the Sneakerology Culture and Community Ambassador. As an instructor he revitalized the curriculum and led weekly lectures to 35+ students. Additionally, he recruited and coordinated guest lectures for the courses “Invigorate Your Sole” lecture series including Matt Powell, Matt Halfhill of Nice Kicks, James Whitner of Social Status, John Geiger, and Ronnie Fieg of Kith. As the Sneakerology Culture and Community Ambassador, Glenn coordinated the Sneakerhead Tour of Pittsburgh with local shops including Social Status, Time Bomb, Shop 412, RU Villa, and Refresh PGH.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
