WORLD BASKETBALL FESTIVAL
Nike launched their inaugural World Basketball Festival in 2010 to showcase international talent and celebrate the game. The inaugural World Basketball Festival was held in New York City.
To give back to the local community, Nike partnered with Cooper Hewitt and New York City public schools to work with students interested in design. Glenn was part of a group of New York City public school students selected to participate in the Cooper Hewitt Make Something x Nike World Basketball Festival program. The program focused on product creation, graphic design, and developing products around briefs. Glenn worked on a team with other students to design the Nike Destroyer Jacket for the French National Team. The Destroyer Jacket saw release to the general public in 2011.

The sample of the France Nike Destroyer jacket is in the center of the photo above, which could be found in the Make Something Magazine. Each of the jackets features original artwork and designs from the New York City Public School students based on product briefs.
This is the final retail version of the Nike Destroyer Jacket for the French team in the World Basketball Festival. The jacket features a cream wool with tan leather accents inspired the rich history of French architecture and design. The FR logo on the back draws inspiration from the popularity of monogrammed goods in the French culture. Additionally, the Gallic Rooster near the front pocket shows a playful twist on France’s national bird which has represented other French teams in the past.
